Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ)

How does online therapy work?
Online therapy lets us connect from the comfort of your home or any private space with internet access. We’ll meet through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform provided by SimplePractice, accessible on your phone or laptop, so you’ll only need a stable internet connection and a device to join.

What can I expect from my first session?
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding your needs. You’ll get a feel for what it’s like to work with me. I take the first three sessions to build rapport and collaborate on a personalized plan to support your goals.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes, online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions, offering flexibility, convenience, and accessibility. I apply all therapeutic modalities online, making it just as impactful as in a traditional setting.

What technology do I need for online sessions?
You’ll just need internet access and a device—either a smartphone or laptop. Our sessions are conducted through HIPAA-compliant SimplePractice, ensuring a secure environment for your privacy.

Do you accept insurance, or what are your fees?
I’m in-network with most Aetna, United Healthcare, BCBS of Texas, Oxford, Oscar, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health and Quest Behavioral Health plans. You can verify your coverage here! For self-pay clients, I charge $120 per 60-minute session and $100 for a 45-minute session.

How do I schedule a Walk and Talk Therapy session?
Walk and Talk Therapy sessions are available for self-pay clients in Houston, typically scheduled bi-weekly on Friday mornings. To book one, simply reach out through my contact link, and we can discuss availability and your goals for this unique therapy experience.
